A 58-year-old Altoona man was cited for his 11th OWI after allegedly passing a school bus on the right, striking a mailbox and a hit-and-run crash.

According to reports, a Bruce School District bus driver was letting children off Friday afternoon when she noticed a Pontiac Sunfire passing the bus on the right. The driver acted quickly and closed the door to protect the students.

The children's mother got the license plate and called officials. Officials found him later, passed out in his vehicle after another person confiscated the keys to his car.

The incident is still under investigation by both the Rusk County Sheriff's Office along with the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
