Construction Worker Killed Sealing Highway

A construction worker died this week after being struck by a truck in Walworth County.

According to reports, the accident occurred Monday about 9:45 a.m. on County Highway J in Troy as public works crews were sealing the roadway when the accident occurred. Emergency crew rushed to the scene to try to revive the 66-year-old man, but were unable to do so. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He and the driver of the truck were longtime employees of the county's Department of Public Works. The driver was backing up when he hit the man. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
