Infant Killed In Brown Co. Crash

Posted by Roberta Jorgensen Puntillo | Mar 06, 2012 | 0 Comments

An infant was killed Saturday afternoon when the car she was riding in was in an accident with another vehicle.

According to reports, the two-month old infant was in an infant seat in the back of the car when her mother lost control of the northbound vehicle about 8:25 p.m. on Brown County Road R. Their car then rotated and collided with a southbound SUV, driven by a man and his wife.

The baby was critically injured in the accident. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

The crash is still under investigation, but the roads were icy at the time of the accident. Officials are looking into whether the child's seat was properly secured, if the seat restraints failed or if the seat may have malfunctioned.
