A Milwaukee man was injured in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in Brown Deer.

According to reports, the man was standing behind his 1995 Cadillac Deville. His car had a flat tire and he was gathering items from his trunk to change it about 2:50 a.m. He was struck from behind by what was described as an older black or dark-colored Chevy Monte Carlo. The vehicle that struck him then backed up, hit a utility pole and then fled the scene.

The accident occurred at the intersection of N. 43rd St. and W. Good Hope Road. The victim, a 41-year-old man, suffered “substantial leg injuries” and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Brown Deer police are continuing their investigation and asking anyone with information to call them at 414-371-2900.
