A Greendale woman was charged with drunk driving with six children after being stopped early Sunday morning.

According to reports, 39-year-old Shelly Butler was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence with minor children under 16 years old.

About 1:05 a.m. Sunday, Butler was pulled over on I-94 in Waukesha County for speeding, nearly hitting another vehicle and straying from her lane. She had six children in her vehicle. Two of them were lying on the floor underneath the legs of some of the other children and unrestrained.

Officials said she couldn't answer how many children she had and she had both her children and a relative's children in her care.

She blew a 0.11 on her initial breathalyzer. She is due in court this week.
