Posted by Roberta Jorgensen Puntillo | May 19, 2012 | 0 Comments

A woman was arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle after a crash that took the life of her 54-year-old husband.

According to officials, the 53-year-old woman was driving eastbound on State Highway 82 when she lost control while going around a curve about 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. The vehicle overturned multiple times before ejecting the husband.

Officials said she had been drinking, but are awaiting toxicology reports to determine her exact blood alcohol levels.

When emergency crews arrived, the engine was on fire. They pulled the woman from the vehicle and her husband was pronounced dead on the scene.

She is due to appear in court June 6. The crash is still under investigation.
