The Grayslake police chief was charged with drunk driving after a Wisconsin crash involving him and his wife a week-and-a-half ago.

According to officials, Matt McCutcheon was turning onto Route 45 in Silver Lake, Wis. about 10 p.m. March 30 when he struck another car. Forty-six-year-old McCutcheon was allegedly swaying and nearly lost his balance when police officers arrived.

He was charged with driving under the influence and being armed while intoxicated and was taken to the Kenosha County Jail. He was placed on paid leave until the legal proceedings are completed.
