Posted by Roberta Jorgensen Puntillo | Jun 23, 2012 | 0 Comments

An elderly Sussex man was injured in a hit-and-run accident last Wednesday.

According to reports, the 84-year-old man was taking a morning walk about 6:40 a.m. near Good Hope Road and Maple Avenue when he was hit in a driveway. That driver took off, but another driver saw him sitting up in the street.

His son, a volunteer firefighter, responded to the scene and was surprised to see his father.

The man has no memory of the accident and the events before or after and was in critical condition in a nearby hospital. He suffered broken bones, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Investigators are still looking into the accident and urge anyone with information to call police.
